Ground beef carbonara is a hearty twist on the classic pasta dish that’s rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It’s also surprisingly easy to make with just 5 simple ingredients!
Bring a large pot of water to a boil, salt it and cook the spaghetti al dente according to the directions on the package. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
8 ounces spaghetti
Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the pancetta until crispy. Remove it from the skillet and set aside.
5 oz pancetta
In the same skillet, cook the ground beef for 7-8 minutes until browned. Drain any excess fat as needed.
½ lb ground beef
While the beef is cooking, whisk together the eggs and grated Parmesan cheese. Add a splash of pasta water to thin it out just a bit.
3 medium eggs
½ cup Parmesan cheese
Once the beef is cooked through, add the cooked spaghetti and pancetta to the skillet and toss well to combine.
Turn off the heat, then pour the egg mixture over the pasta. Toss well until all the pasta is coated.
Serve immediately, with some extra grated Parmesan on top if you like.
